Description:
The project presents teaching material to start a debate in the class about why dinosaurs became extinct. The ideas are presented as a trial where there are observations that become "witnesses" in a trial. Students make up the jury and have to pass a verdict at the end of the trial. The target audience is students aged 14-17. The activity takes from 2-4 hours. In addition to presenting facts, the material is meant as an introduction to science and scientific thinking. Students should know some basic physics and biology. A computer with MS-Powerpoint and an overhead projector are required.
