This is a multimedia presentation of new physics techniques that are used in medicine to create images. The methods include ultrasound, X ray imaging, radioisotopes in diagnosis, magnetic resonance imaging and radiotherapy. The goal is to promote pupils' understanding of the basic principles between this interesting intersection between the two fields.
The presentation can be used in the classroom or for self-learning. By clicking links to explanations, charts, graphs, photos and video clips, students can explore the past and future of various imaging technologies.
The target audience is pupils from age 12-14, who have had a basic introduction to physics. A computer with MS-Powerpoint is required.
