Description:
This project is designed to accompany the simulation program "Virtual Flylab" from California State University, which can be accessed via the internet. The manual contains suggestions/instructions on how to teach the basic principles of genetic inheritance by designing matings between fruit flies with different genetic make-ups. It is made to be used as a group project in the classroom.
The original target audience was 17-18-year-old Swiss
students in a biology class. Students should have learned
the basic concepts behind Mendel's laws of inheritance.
The project takes about 8 hours of class time and requires
computer(s) with internet access.
